The International Fair of 3D and Additive Manufacturing will be holding its 2nd edition on 6-8 June 2017

Innovations from leading firms and highly advanced congress programme make ADDIT3D a pioneering event

ADDIT3D is moving forward firmly, with over 60 confirmed exhibitors, innovations from the market’s leading firms and a programme of presentations that offer an excellent overview of the strong growth that the sector is experiencing.  The innovations and products registered in the Directory of Exhibitors exemplify the increasingly intensive, complex use of its possibilities.  In scanners the stand-out features are the latest reverse engineering technology, reconstruction of CAD documents and 3D modelling of objects of all kinds by INNOVALINE, in materials they include “Water Soluble 3DCPI” by 3DCPI, which is a filament of material that is soluble in hot water which facilitates adherence from 60º onwards, providing surfaces on clean, even supports, and in equipment there is the new J750 by PIXEL, which can print with the full range of colours available.

The surface area originally reserved for firms such as HP Printing and Computing Solutions, CT Advanced Manufacturing, Mizar Additive Manufacturing, SMD 3D Pantur, Integral 3D Printing, Leartiker and Optimus 3D, among others, has already been more than filled. The ADDIT3D exhibition is to feature firms & organisations of three types. Under the heading of “Equipment” there will be printers and additive manufacturing machinery, represented mainly by distributors of the major international firms that operate in Spain and local machine-tool manufacturers who are currently developing hybrid or specific additive manufacturing machines.  Stand-out names include Addilan Fabricación Aditiva, Dynamical Tools, Eos GmbH, Grupo Sicnova, Innovascan Technologi, Maier 3D and Pixel Sistemas.

The section for manufacturers of parts & software, consumables and applications consists mainly of domestic and foreign SMEs such as HP Printing and Computing Solutions, Prodintec, Quipplan Tucker, Tumaker, Undo Systems and Wehl & Partner. These firms are characterised by their provision of customised, as they work directly with customers and adjust all their processes to their customer’s needs.  Finally, the R&D section featres technology centres such as Asociación Centro Tecnológico CEIT-IK4, Fundación Tecnalia Reseach & Innovation, Centro Tecnologico Gaiker, Lortek and the University of the Basque Country. The firms that have already confirmed their attendance cover the full range of content of the event, which in this its second edition has consolidated its position as the only trade fair in Spain in its field, and a benchmark event for getting up to date with many concepts and solutions.

The interest of trade specialists in learning first hand about the potential of advanced manufacturing is clear to see from the list of firms that have signed up to visit the event. They include Aernnova Engineeering Division, Airbus Defence & Space, CIE Automotive, Grupo ITP-Industria de Turbo Propulsores, Grupo Volkswagen-Seat, IDOM,  Mercedes-Benz España-Daimler Chrysler, Renault España and Volkswagen Navarra. In surveys for ADDIT3D 2016, 80% of exhibitors stated that they were satisfied with the standard of the visits that they received (an average of 238, according to the statistics), which in 61% of cases gave rise to orders and projects after the event had ended.  Visitors gave the quality, standard and size of the exhibition a rating of more than 8 out of 10. In all, 90% stated that they had fulfilled the goal of their visit.

A wide range of seminars: development, trends and applications

Additive manufacturing and 3D printing are spreading increasingly into a wide range of sectors, where  this type of technology can meet their manufacturing needs and bring considerable benefits in terms of shorter lead times, savings on material and above all   the customisation of products with total flexibility in design and construction.  That is why the ADDIT3D seminars, coordinated by ADDIMAT, will be tackling the major challenges, innovations and trends in the sector and potential applications in a wide range of contexts.

The programme will include papers on “Applications of laser fillers in the repair and manufacture of moulds & dies”, “Application of additive polymeric components in nanosatellites”, “Additive manufacturing in Industry 4.0: the digitisation of factories”, “Bio-models for surgery”, and “Applications of additive manufacturing in the footwear industry” among other topics of crrent interest.  Management staff from firms and organisations such as Hewlett-Packard, Trumpf, Tecnalia, Addilan, Renishaw, Air Liquide, Mizar, Pixel-Stratasys, Asorcad Engineering, Tumaker, Aimplas, Prodintec, Domotek, Printed Dreams, Metrología Sariki, Linde, Aiju and Inescop will be passing on their expert views on these issues over the course of three days.

Finally, ADDIT3D is being held concurrently with five other industrial events: the SUBCONTRATACION international fair of manufacturing processes and equipment, the MAINTENANCE industrial maintenance fair,  the PUMPS & VALVES international fair of pumps, valves and equipment for industrial processes, the FERROFORMA international hardware, DIY & industrial supplies fair  and the FITMAQ, international fair of bargain and used machinery. This will reinforce its profile as a forum for business and knowledge transfer.

ADDIT3D is organised by ADDIMAT, the Spanish Association of Additive Manufacturing and 3D Technologies, and Bilbao Exhibition Centre.
