IBARMIA, MIZAR ADDITIVE & DANOBAT GROUP win 2016 innovation awards

AFM-Advanced Manufacturing Technologies and the Provincial Council of Bizkaia, representing the machine-tool and advanced manufacturing technology sectors, selected Ibarmia, Mizar Additive and the Danobat Group as the winners of the 2016 Innovation Awards. A special mention was also awarded to Zayer.

The innovation award for machine tools, components, accessories and tools went to Ibarmia for its universal machining centre with moving table and column and forked head.  The innovation award for 3-D or additive manufacturing went to Mizar Additive for its method for creating personalised bone repair plates fully adapted to the anatomy of each patient. Finally, the innovation award for the integration of 4.0 concepts into advanced manufacturing systems went to the Danobat Group for an integrated 4.0 project concerned with connectivity at three different levels: machine, process and plant.

The awards were presented during day three of the BIEMH by Imanol Pradales (Provincial Councillor for Economic Promotion), Antxon López Usoz (Chair of the AFM), Andrés Zabara (Head of Promotion and Co-Operation at the CDTI) and Xabier Basañez (General Manager of the Bilbao Exhibition Centre).
