It will be held from 3 to 7 June 2024 as part of BIEMH
To contribute their own experiences and to share first-hand business success stories in the field of additive manufacturing and 3D printing. With this in mind, the 8th edition of ADDITƐD has set up its programme of conferences, Additive Talks, which on 6 June will bring together representatives of leading Spanish and international companies at Bilbao Exhibition Centre to discuss the evolution, implementation and major challenges of additive technology.
The panel is ambitious in terms of the quality of the sessions with a strong technological profile. There will be success stories and individual presentations such as the opening keynote speech by Haden Quinlan, the senior director of the MIT Programme (Massachusetts Institute of Technology), entitled Developing Competencies in Additive Manufacturing: Lessons Learned from My Experience Teaching 10,000 Professionals, which will analyse, among other issues, the approach this prestigious Institute taken when teaching the various skills that additive manufacturing offers different audiences.
José Greses, Emea Sales Leader at GE Additive (Maquinser), will then focus on the company’s perspective on the industrialisation of AM, from the certification of aeronautical parts (stability, repeatability and production scaling) to the latest developments in laser productivity and PointMel in EBM.
This will be followed by three successful cases of manufacturing industrial parts using additive manufacturing in key sectors such as aerospace, where Miguel Ampudia, the head of R&D and metallurgy at AENIUM, will share his experience in this field. Paula Rodríguez, from Arcelor Mittal, will do likewise for heavy industry, while, finally, Alejandro Serrano, head of the Additive Manufacturing Centre at BMI in Madrid (AITIIP), will focus on the railway sector.
The programme will also feature Fabian van Rossum and Quentin Mandou from Air Liquide and Sebastian Hartmann, a PhD candidate in digital twinning for additive manufacturing at Siemens and TUM (Technical University of Munich). In his presentation, Hartmann will outline the future direction of the German multinational in the additive manufacturing sector and will discuss the applications of digital twins and artificial intelligence in projects with key partners from industry and academia.
Finally, a panel discussion on the future of additive manufacturing will bring the Additive Talks programme to a close. Representatives of companies such as Sicnova (Agustín García), Optimus 3D (Estíbaliz Azaceta), Renishaw (Marc Gardon) and Materialise (Martín Sáez) will be moderated by the deputy director of the Centre for Advanced Manufacturing in Aeronautics (CFAA), Aitzol Lamikiz.
Gathering at BEC from 3 to 7 June
The eighth edition of ADDITƐD will also feature an exhibition and product presentation area. More than one hundred exhibitors across strategic sectors such as automotive, aerospace, naval, metal, auxiliary and capital goods, defence and railway, have confirmed that they will attend the event, which will be held between 3 and 7 June at BEC as part of the 32nd edition of the BIEMH-International Machine Tool Biennial, making it the largest showcase for advanced manufacturing and 3D printing. BeDIGITAL and WORKinn Talent Hub will take place in parallel.
The event is organised by ADDIMAT (Spanish Association of Additive Manufacturing Technologies) and Bilbao Exhibition Centre, in collaboration with Innobasque- Agencia Vasca de la Innovación as an Innovation Partner, and the Provincial Council of Biscay and the Basque Government- SPRI Group as Institutional Partners; and with sponsors of the stature of Air Liquide (Gold Sponsor).
